It says to be comfortable doing basic, normal teaching methods before you can incorporate any special elements, depending on how much flexibility you are allowed. It is okay, as teachers, for us to not be spontaneous at first. It is okay to not do a monologue, as he did, to engage students. Use any personal passion to grab their attention, because they will feel that and want to get involved in it too. This will encourage their creative thinking and show that it can be something amazing, and doesn't have to do with just studying.
