Response: I completely agree with this statement. It highlights the importance of decision making when writing a literary work. It is vital to the effectiveness of it to choose the correct word-choice, layout, syntax, vocabulary, diction. All these elements are what make a piece of work beautiful. Additionally, the biggest words aren't always the most effective, it all depends on the purpose and effect the author is trying to achieve. When executed successfully, it makes for a much more enjoyable piece of work. Since I am a writer of short stories, fanfiction, and of original stories, I have encountered this decision many times in the past. The process of editing one's work shouldn't be underestimated since it can differentiate between good and spectacular writing.
